We are back after our holidays

It is lovely to be back at kindergarten and see the delight on the faces of the children as they come in. They are enjoying doing their favourite things like painting:

and are also enthusiastic about helping out to tidy up our environment. We have a bit of sifting and a lot of garden tidying to do as over the holidays it has been hot and dry and everything is looking in need of some TLC.

The glue guns have been in hot demand and the children have decided to make puppets,

We packed the whole kindergarten into a container so we could have a new floor installed so now we are opening up the boxes and finding equipment and deciding where everything should be. We have to put out all the outdoor equipment too but before we could the monkey bars had become a horse!!!
Alex was the first child to bring back his summer passport and we all enjoyed seeing what he and his family had been doing in the holidays. It is a great way of finding out what is on top for both the child and the family - connecting to families and being able to chat as they come and go.
So now we are into term 1, 2015 and looking forward to seeing what develops as curriculum at Mangere Bridge Kindergarten.
