The Natural Phenomena Conference in the Wild Woods, Tikipunga

The conference is just a fabulous "meeting of minds" for teachers who are interested in learning in the outdoors for children in the Early Years.
Carol, Pat and Jemma drove to Whangarei at the weekend really looking forward to the conference as we had attended last year. We were not disappointed. We had a fantastic time and caught up with other teachers who are also 'looking over their back fence' and taking children into the outdoors.
We attended a workshop with Steve Gurney - he talked about Neuro-linguistic programming and from his own experiences is passionate
about taking risks and learning from that risk.
The keynotes by Richard Louv (author of The Last Child in the woods)and Adam Bienenstock (Natural Playground designer extraordinaire) were also fantastic and Sundays one by New Zealands own David Spraggs ( Senior teacher from Gisborne Kindergarten Association) was as usual provoking.

Where else would you present from the cave in a tree trunk?
Our thanks go to the amazing organising committee. They do the most AMAZING job. The whole weekend is inspirational.

If you get a chance go to the conference in 2015. It is definitely worth it.
