Planting the garden boxes

We entered the "Treasure box"competition with Manukau Beautification Trust to decorate and plant two boxes. We chose a rainbow box and a stripey box for our two guinea pigs and painted them, left them to dry and then got ready to plant. We planned to grow guinea pig food, things they love to eat like carrots, cucumber, grass and clover.
We used our own compost, some water from the sheep and cow poo bucket ( which we collected on our walks back from the farm) and then seed strips and punnets. Later we added some plants we had grown from seed ourselves.
We made a plan so that we knew where things had been planted. Caleb took the lead with most of this project.
