Making a raft - a project takes all week.

It began on Monday when some children decided to use some old wood from our deconstructed climbing boxes to make a plane. Although when he started it was a plane Toren soon decided that his was in fact a raft and all week he has been working on it with the help of some of his friends. He has painted both sides and finally left it out to dry. We won 1000 testpots from Resene quite some time ago and we are still making good use of them for projects. They were perfect for this job -and also for our barrel lids which we are also working on. We really like projects - they include problem solving, literacy and numeracy and learning new skills. They also involve working co-operatively with whoever comes along to give a hand.
