Welcome to our blog site

Hi everyone and welcome to our first blog. Carol and Pat are the permanent teachers at our kindergarten and after attending ULearn07 last week Pat and Carol could see the value of a blog for keeping our community informed and also connecting our Centre of Innovation research project to the wider world of Early Childhood and Primary educators. The week before we had been at the Early Childhood Convention in Rotorua and were energised and "provoked" to think about teaching and learning and then at ULearn to further develop our ICT use and this is a response to that provocation.
This week we are back at work and with Joyanne ( our long term reliever) and Stephanie ( our very efficent and valued admin person) we are looking forward to a busy and exciting term. It is our annual Ambury Farm Park open day this weekend ( Sunday 14th Oct) and our Parent and Whanau support group are busy whizzing around organising our fundraiser stall - sausages and lollies and of course a raffle to raise funds for ongoing resources. If you are going to Ambury Farm pop over and say Hello!!
At kindergarten this week we have been busy planting and gardening. We now have a supply of strawberries planted and yummy cherry tomatoes. We are slowly finishing off the landscaping around the new Centre of Innovation dissemination room and had hoped to have a gang of children and adults to help Roger, our builder start constructing a wall but to our dissappointment it rained and no builder! We'll keep you posted on our gardening and landscaping efforts - the bush walk is next ( Another inspiration from Rotorua - not the conference but Rainbow springs instead). Our sightseeing was not nearly as scary or energetic as Manaia Kindergarten. Cocoons are not for us!! Ka kite
